ARRIVAL FLIGHT TO SWITZERLAND - Where to find a flight to suit you?

We strongly advise you to book a flight that will ensure your arrival in to Zurich airport between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on that day.  (or Geneva arrival no later than 11.45 a.m.) As for return flight, it is best to book a flight, that leaves after 6 p.m.

Day 1 Welcome to Switzerland / Zurich / Rhine falls / Lucerne lake area - (Western Dinner)

Morning, passengers arrival on own transfer / flight to Zurich airport. Your professional tour manager has long waited for your arrival. A short coach transfer to the centre of Zurich for an orientation drive. This pulsating metropolis is full with recreation and entertainment Stop at the main Railway station of Zurich, opened in 1871, this superb building ranks amongst Europe's most beautiful railway stations. Many extensions have been added over the years to the original building, which now resembles an architectural puzzle of numerous interesting styles. From here, perhaps you like to start off, on to the famous Bahnhofstrasse, the city 's  main shopping zone and ideal for pedestrians. This Bahnhof street is one of the most beautiful shopping area. It is essential to stop here not only for your own lunch hour, deciding what to taste, especially the mouth watering display of menus at the restaurants, it also allows you a first hand experience, browsing at elegant fashions, department stores, boutiques with top quality products, and admire at the unique architectures of the 5 major banks near the Limmat River Quai. Notice also the Rathaus, a baroque construction dating from 1694/98 is full of character. It juts out into the Limmat on the site of an earlier parliament building.

This evening we check in at our hotel by Lake Lucerne in the canton or Uri.

Day 2  Interlaken / Jungfrau / Lauterbrunnen / Staubbach Waterfall / Berne - (Continental Breakfast / Western Dinner)

Another page of Switzerland is opened before your eyes as we leave after breakfast for  Switzerland's beautiful Bernese Oberland. Interlaken is a delightful destination for memorable holidays and conventions. The town is located between the lakes of Thun and Brienz, you will agree that it is indeed a delight to spend some hours simply wandering on its main streets, lined with exclusive shops and stores amidst enchanting natural settings. For those who wish to enjoy the tallest mountain range in Europe, we drop you off at the foot of Jungfrau, where you can take an optional tour to ascend the massive white rock - Jungfrau. A breadth stopping train ride from Lauterbrunnen to Wegen and Kleine Scheidegg station. The spectacular scenery unfolds before your eyes as if it were a scroll of perfect water colour painting. At the top of the Europe, enjoy the facilities that is available such as: Husky Dog sledges; Snow walk; Ice cave; Carvings of ice sculptures, movie room; souvenirs stalls, photo saloon and 3 restaurants and bar/cafe. After which we assemble again to continue with a breadth-taking scenic drive through the Wassen; Gadmen Rosentaul route for Lauterbrunnen valley. Probably one of the most beautiful of the glacial valleys in the European Alps with scenic attractions include the 4000 meter snow-capped peaks and imposing waterfalls. Located 796 m above sea level - the lively centre at the entrance to the valley, with its famous landmark, the sparkling Staubbach Waterfall.

In the afternoon, we are in the capital of the country Berne. It is a UNESCO World heritage, walking with your tour manager from the rail station through arcades of shops and stores, we see a compact mediaeval cityscape, with its unique 12 C Golden clock tower, the Renaissance fountains and largely preserved sandstone facades, to which the romantic Swiss capital owes its charm. Cross the River Aare, we come to the Bear pit, for the glimpse of those cute cuddly animals, the bear is Berne heraldic symbol and therefore, do not forget a memorial snap shot, as a proof that you were here. (Optional rail to Jungfrau needs to be pre-booked. Please inform your agent if you wish to book otherwise, there may be no seats at the last minute.)

Day 3  Lucerne / Angels Valley and Pasture / Mount Titlis - 10,000 Ft / Visp -   (Continental Breakfast / Western Dinner)

A short drive to the picturesque township that has represented Switzerland in countless colanders and post cards, we are here in Lucerne. it is an essential stop for all travellers to Switzerland, simply for its uniqueness. Enjoy the scenes around the lake with graceful swans; the ever green mountains, occasionally snow-capped and the changing vegetation around. wander through the cobble stone streets in the old town, spot the ornate fountains in every corners or together with your tour manager, visit the monuments such as the Wounded Lion, memory of the heroic death of the Swiss mercenaries at the Tuileries in 1792; The Kapellbruecke - Chapel Bridge constructed first half of the 14th century as a part of the city's fortifications, the Jesuit Church, built in 1666/67, the first and finest baroque churches in the country and finally the old wall with its medieval watch towers. There are also the Richard Wagner House , Picasso Museum if you care to rush to, rather than shopping for the Swiss cotton materials, watches or folklore souvenirs. For those who wish to conquer yet another Swiss massive mountain range, here is your chance to do so. We bring you through the village of Stans and up to the forest of the pines and ever-green. It is here about 1000 meter where we have to stop for there is no road further ahead. You are in Engelberg, also fondly known as the "Angle's mountain". Here at the end of the road, is the "Angle's pasture" where in the height of summer, wild flowers grow in abundant, transforming it into a explosion display of colours and plants of all shapes. Roam around the township of Engelberg to browse around the stall selling all that is Swiss. Why not pay for the ticket over the counter and you can soon be transported by three stages of cable car all the way up to the top of the world at 10'000 feet above the water level of lake Lucerne. It is also here you could experience the world's first revolving cable car, a massive jumbo size that could carry over 80 skiers or visitors alike. Once on top of the summit at 3020 meter, there will be the Ice Palace; the Panorama balcony; the Ski and Sledge slopes; and of course the restaurants and the cinema showing you the colours of Engelberg at different seasons. Back to Engelberg once again, we continue to Visp, at the foot of yet another range of mountains.

Day 4   Zermatt Matterhorn resort / Les Bains de Lavey Spa & hot spring / Visp -  (Continental Breakfast / Western Dinner)
 
South-bound this morning towards the country road where every turn is a picture post card. Few alpine resorts in Switzerland, among them Zermatt, is one of the “Green?resorts. Only electric

vehicles and taxis are allowed. Access to Zermatt from Täsch cog-wheel station. The up market shops and restaurants is indeed made for the rich and famous. We could stroll to the end of the road for the spectacular view of “Pyramid?shaped snow capped mountain that you have long to see ?The Matterhorn. Continue to hot The hot sulphur springs of Lavey on the Rhone River  Discovered quite by chance by a fisherman in 1831, it is now the up market Spa and beauty centre of the country. Surrounded by impressive mountain ranges. Several swimming and spa pools, steam rooms, whirlpools and rest rooms are at your disposal with just a 3 hour ticket paid at the door. In addition you'll find fun pools and a 70-m long slide for children, as well as a 25-m Olympic pool for those with athletic ambition. All pools have a temperature of 28-42°C and contain thermal water from local springs. Later, guests can enjoy culinary delights in various bars and restaurants. The coffee bar at the entrance of the bath is the perfect place to enjoy afternoon cafe and croissant. Feel hungry? Stop for a snack at the self-service restaurant. Visit the new grill-pizzeria and enjoy the lovely terrace. In the later afternoon, we return back to Visp where dinner is served. 

  
Day 5   Lausanne Olympic Museum's Garden / Geneva area  / Departure sent-off - (Continental Breakfast)
 
Off we go southbound this morning, passing by more nature and open valley. By the waters of Lac Leman, or in its common name - Lake Geneva, we drop by at Lausanne. Indeed a very much relaxed and laid-back township, it has Ouchy as a lakeside terrace on which to stroll, chill out, and enjoy the mountain views and fresh breezes. Officially and proudly a separate commune from Lausanne, Ouchy for years survived as a fishing port, but these days, although some fishing continues, it’s become one of the more chic of the Swiss lakeside resorts, with waterfront cafés abounding.  Some 500m west of Ouchy’s neo-Gothic château, now a hotel, and beyond the majestically opulent Hotel Beau Rivage sets in its own ground, you’ll come to the Parc Olympique, home of Lausanne’s much-touted flagship Musée Olympique.

Stroll in the garden ground of the Museum of International Olympic, if time permits, take a look inside for news on the future world-class events on world sports. Next, we see Charlie Chaplin. He stands perpetually looking at his favourite lake, it is a stop where most tourists will find endearing. After bidding good-bye to the comedian, we come face to face with the symbol of the lake and Geneva city. The jet d'eau near the English Garden is our first stop. Drive around to get an orientation of the cosmopolitan ambience, all being reflected in the area where U.N. congress and offices are located. After a fulfilling day of excursion, we end up at Geneva International Airport, where your tour ends. Here, the tour manager bids you all fond farewell, and a pleasant flight back to the U.K. soil or your next destination .
